Gardening

We headed out to the garden this past Saturday to plant our garden.  As you can see the girls wanted to help.  We didn't plant much this year but we look forward to cherry tomatoes, yellow and green squash, peppers, and strawberries.  We also planted some melons but we are not holding our breathe.

Story Time

Story time is our nightly routine. The girls love it, especially Brindi. She would let us read to her all day if I could stand it.  She loves Froggy books and the Bernstein(spelling?) Bears and has quite a few memorized which makes me wonder even more why I have to read them all the time :). Brooke is obsessed with sitting in chairs and she is so funny when she reads a book to herself. She'll sit there and go "ahh, ahhh,ohh,ahh" almost like she is singing, hopefully we will catch it on video one of these days. I personally can't wait until the girls get big enough that I can start reading the Narnia books and Harry Potter to them and all my other favorites....

KC Temple

We decided we better make the trip over to KC to the temple open house mostly for Brindi. After we had Brooke and I couldn't leave her long enough to do a session Joe and I would take Brin and Brooke with us and we would just switch off taking turns. Well one time when Joe started to go into the temple Brindi tried to follow him and cried and cried when she found out she couldn't go in. She just kept saying "I want to go to the temple". We hope she keeps that desire and glad we were able to take her so she could "go in the temple". It was a quick trip, but the girls were great. Brindi's favorite room was the sealing room because she loved the big mirrors. Which makes us laugh because she is ALWAYS pretending to get married, so it just makes since it was her favorite room. This last week she even told our little neighbour boy with whom she was pretending, that they were going to the temple to get married....

Backyard Fun

Spring weather has been great this year and we have tried to take advantage of it as much as possible.  The tramp has also helped to make our outdoor experience a good one.

I absolutely love this picture of Celeste.  I could look at this picture all day.  I can't believe how lucky I am to be married to such a beautiful girl.

Blanket Fort

Brindi was pretty unsure when I suggested making a fort but she quickly came around as it started to take form.  Since then she seems to ask to make a fort everyday.  I am not sure how Celeste felt about the whole thing since it took up the whole front room and it was accidently left up for a couple days:)

Haircut

Brindi decided that I was getting a little shaggy and needed a haircut.  Quite the imagination and skill!

Fishing

Brindi has been making us go out back and pretend to fish so we decided that real fishing would be a good pursuit.  We headed out to Defiance for family night to do a little fishing.  The pond had way too much algae that made for poor fishing conditions but we still had fun.  Celeste was the champ as she is the only one that caught anything and it was a really good size large mouth bass.
